The Whippoorwill Lake community is 32 homes surrounded by woods and wetlands on a hill in Chappaqua, New York. Berol Close, Whippoorwill Close and Whippoorwill Lake Road are its three picturesque streets. The lake is small, no more than a half-hour's walk to circle, but it is exceptionally beautiful in all four seasons of the year. New Castle's Whippoorwill Park, a 160 acre woodland with marked trails, is our backyard and an ideal landscape for hiking and wildlife-watching.

Along with the privileges of community life in this setting comes certain responsibilities. Homeowners contribute both the guidance and the funds needed to maintain the nature preserve, the lake and the other areas that are the common property of the community. The Whippoorwill Lake Property Owners Association manages the common property through its board of directors and committees. The bylaws enacted at the founding of the Association in 1978 govern the activities and responsibilities of the association.
